Disaster Preparedness for Horse Owners

Disasters can happen with little warning, and having a plan for both you and your horse can make all the difference. Join Boulder Office of Disaster Management and Colorado Horse Rescue for a community preparedness clinic focused on helping horse owners prepare for emergencies.

Learn how to receive emergency alerts, explore practical steps you can take now to prepare yourself, your family, and your animals, and watch live trailer-loading demonstrations led by Colorado Horse Rescue staff. The demonstrations will feature horses with varying levels of trailer-loading experience, offering insights into techniques and considerations for a variety of real-world situations. Whether you’re new to horse ownership or have years of experience, you’ll leave with practical knowledge and resources to help strengthen your preparedness and build confidence before an emergency occurs.
