Update on power: Boulder County is still experiencing high wind conditions, and thousands are without power. While power has been restored in limited areas, it will take Xcel Energy crews some time to restore power to everyone. Much of our community, primarily mountain communities, South Boulder, Mapleton Hill and West Pearl, will remain without electricity at least through tonight. Xcel Energy has also announced that another public safety power shutoff is possible for Friday morning.
What We Need from the Community:
Prepare now and lean into your support system of neighbors, friends, and family
Build an emergency kit (learn more at BoulderODM.gov) which includes battery-powered lighting (flashlight, lantern, etc.) and extra batteries
Reduce fire risk activities
Check on neighbors, friends, and family, especially older adults and those living alone
Be patient during restoration
Visit the Xcel Energy Outage Map for information on power at your address.
Update on travel: There is significant debris on the roads, which could include downed tree limbs and power lines, and many traffic signals remain inoperable. Public safety officials urge caution to anyone who must travel tonight and throughout the wind event.
