On Friday, Dec. 19, we ask that people stay home and off the roads. Wind conditions will be dangerously high, especially in areas west of Broadway in Boulder and along the foothills.
There will be significant debris in the roads, including downed limbs and power lines, and some traffic signals will be out. If you must drive, please drive carefully today:
— Traffic signals are out in many areas around within the City of Boulder and around Boulder County. Anticipate longer travel times.
— Treat all intersections where power is out as four-way stops
— Slow down and drive with extra caution
— Fuel stations and electric vehicle charging may be limited – fuel and charge vehicles before the outage starts
— RTD is anticipating that their busses will be operating. The CLIMB and Lyons Flyer bus services are closed.
Wind and fire conditions can escalate quickly. Police, Fire and Paramedics will benefit from less traffic on the roads so that they can respond more quickly to emergencies and life safety situations.
