We are receiving reports of outages in Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) areas and elsewhere. Important reminders:
1. Treat non-working traffic lights as a four-way stop and drive carefully.
2. Make sure all appliances are turned off/unplugged to avoid fires and surges when electricity comes back.
3. Follow food and medication safety tips such as keeping refrigerator and freezer doors closed and throwing out perishable food that has been above 40°F. Remember, food stays safe for up to 4 hours in a refrigerator, 48 hours in a full freezer and 24 hours in a half-full freezer.
