The National Weather Service has issued a flood advisory for parts of Boulder County through today, Tuesday, May 19.
North county (Lyons area) and Heil Valley Ranch Open Space (U.S. 36/Foothills Highway) area (north of Boulder and west of Lyons) are part of the flood advisory. Rain will continue in the Boulder area most of the morning, but should start to taper off by 10 a.m. or 11 a.m.
Boulder OEM is monitoring conditions and is advising residents to watch for rock and mud slides in the foothills and downstream areas. Creeks will continue to rise with this persistent rain, but any out-of-banks flooding is not expected to be significant.
Please report any serious changes to the landscape (road damage, hill slides, excessive creek flooding, etc.) to 9-1-1. Non-emergency calls should be directed to dispatch at 303-441-4444.
