The City of Boulder, in partnership with Boulder County and the Boulder Office of Disaster Management, will open a temporary, emergency warming center Friday, Jan. 12, to ensure all community members have a space to get warm or spend the night, as temperatures are expected to drop below zero.
Community members seeking shelter are encouraged to go to the Boulder Shelter for the Homeless (BSH), located at 4869 Broadway. Even those who don’t typically meet the criteria to use BSH, must check in at BSH for services first.
If BSH reaches capacity or it is determined you will be housed at the emergency warming center, you will be provided free transportation to the overflow facility at the East Age Well Center at the East Boulder Community Center, 5660 Sioux Drive. The center will operate 24-hours a day from Friday evening through Tuesday morning.
For more details on the emergency warming center see the City of Boulder’s website.
