Xcel Energy provided this update as of 3 p.m. today.
- Currently, 574 customers remain without electric service.
- Since the Magnolia and Sugarloaf evacuations have been lifted, Xcel has been working on a plan to restore power to approximately 200 customers in the Sugarloaf area.
- Power could be restored in those areas this evening. If it is, Xcel will issue an update.
- Magnolia residents have electric service.
After that, approximately 300 customers will be without power in the fire zone. Xcel anticipates that restoring power to these remaining customers will require repairs to damaged equipment in the fire area when it is deemed safe to do so by local and federal officials.
Xcel Energy crews also have been restoring natural gas service to 35 customers whose service was shut off on Sunday as a precautionary measure. For service to be restored, someone at least 18 years old must be home when crews arrive to restore service. The company has sent outbound phone calls to those customers impacted notifying them that our crews are going door-to-door between 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. to re-light gas service. If no one is home, a door hanger with instructions on how to contact us will be left behind.
Xcel Energy will continue to provide regular status updates, including detailed information on restoring power to our customers. More details are at its website at https://www.xcelenergy.com/emergency_notices/cold-springs-wildfire
