People needing copies of birth and death certificates, marriage licenses, or other identification can apply at the Disaster Assistance Center starting on Jan. 5.
- Disaster response support applications (emergency financial assistance, insurance collection or FEMA personal or small business support) require identification.
- The event (birth, etc) needs to have occurred in Colorado, or else people need to apply through their home state’s offices. Contact information for vitals offices across the US: https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/w2w/index.htm
- People can also apply for any of these records online, either through their County Offices or through Vital Check for general identification.
- Documents will require a few days to process.
