The East Boulder Community Center (5660 Sioux Drive) will remain open overnight as an emergency shelter for those evacuated for the #SunshineWildlandfire. Small domestic pets (leashed) are allowed at the shelter.

Mapleton Avenue (which becomes Sunshine Canyon Drive) at 4th Street to the west remains closed for the #SunshineWildlandFire. Also, Linden Avenue at South Cedarbrook Street to the west is closed for the #SunshineWildlandFire.

The evacuation site at East Boulder Community Center, 5660 Sioux Drive, will accept small, domestic pets with their evacuated guardians. The Boulder Valley Humane Society will provide food, water, bowls, and crates. Guardians are asked to have their pets leashed or in crates. The site opens at 5:30 p.m.

For the SunshineWildlandFire, significant firefighting activity is occurring on the ground. Air support is not possible due to wind conditions. The focus currently is on protecting structures and preventing further spread. No injuries have been reported. Current size is 18 acres.
