Take precautions with refrigerated medicines

As our community is facing an extended power outage, we understand the stress and challenges this brings. We encourage everyone, especially those with critical medical needs, to take immediate and proactive steps to ensure their safety and well-being. Per Xcel Energy’s public communications, the power restoration process could extend through today, Monday, April 8, and possibly longer for some customers.

Community members who rely on refrigerated medications should reach out to their pharmacist or healthcare provider to ensure their medications are still safe to use or to refill prescriptions. Temperature-sensitive drugs lose potency if not refrigerated and should be replaced with a new supply as soon as possible. Keep in mind this may require additional approval from insurance to cover the cost of replacement which could take time.

In case of a medical emergency please call 911.
