After a multi-mission aircraft (MMA) flyover of the Sunshine Wildland Fire, the acreage only increased slightly overnight. The current estimate is 19 acres in size. There can be slight variances in the estimated fire size due to spot fires located just outside of the main fire footprint.

The shelter at the the East Boulder Community Center will close at 9:30 a.m. this morning. Community members displaced by the fire have found alternative places to stay.

There were no significant changes or growth in the fire last night. We anticipate being able to provide an update once the incoming crews relieve the overnight crews and complete their transition and briefing. #SunshineWildlandFire

We do not anticipate lifting the mandatory evacuation order or road closures for the #SunshineWildlandFire overnight. Currently, an estimated 457 residents remain evacuated from 167 homes. The East Boulder Community Center (5660 Sioux Drive) will remain open overnight as an emergency shelter for those evacuated for the #SunshineWildlandfire. Small domestic pets (leashed) are allowed at the shelter.

Mapleton Avenue (which becomes Sunshine Canyon Drive) at 4th Street to the west remains closed for the #SunshineWildlandFire. Also, Linden Avenue at South Cedarbrook Street to the west is closed for the #SunshineWildlandFire.
