#NCARFire evacuation areas include 19,000 people and 8,000 homes

Boulder County Fairgrounds, 9595 Nelson Road in Longmont, is now accepting large animals. Humane Society of Boulder Valley, 2323 55th St. in Boulder, can accept smaller pets and companion animals for shelter and care.

Via is available to provide bus service to the evacuation point for anyone who needs it. Community members may call Lisa Bitzer at 303-725-4160 to request this service.

Winds are 15 to 25 mph out of the north, northwest. Winds are expected to decrease as the afternoon continues but could shift more westerly.
