Effective immediately, evacuation orders for residents of the Mountain Ridge and Lake of the Pines subdivisions and Foothills Ranch Drive will be temporarily lifted until 6 p.m. this evening to allow for residents to work on their property. The fire remains active on this side of the Calwood fire, which is why the evacuation modification is only temporary. Residents of the Crestview subdivision will be permanently allowed to re-enter their homes, unless conditions change. Evacuation orders will be evaluated on a day-by-day basis. Those granted reentry are asked to remain on alert and be ready to evacuate again should conditions change and public safety again be threatened.
With this modification, US 36 will be reopened to Apple Valley Road west of Lyons, where there currently is a hard closure due to impacts from other fires located outside of Boulder County.
Reentry Procedures
Residents granted access to their properties will need to provide proof of residency to Sheriff’s Office deputies who will be stationed at entry points to all previously evacuated areas. Proof of residency can include:
- Drivers license with current address
- ID and mail identifying the property owner and the address
- ID and paperwork showing name and property inside zone
- Residents who have been granted temporary access to their homes will receive a permit from the deputies on scene.
